Optimark Technologies Names New Chief Technology Officer

Jersey City, NJ, November 11, 1999 - OptiMark Technologies, Inc. today announced that it has named Robert Warshaw to the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer.

Mr. Warshaw comes to OptiMark from Lazard Frères where he held the position of Chief Information Officer, managing Technology and certain Administration areas. Before Lazard, he was a partner at McKinsey & Co. In this role, he worked with large financial services and technology firms, helping them to adapt their structure and processes to be cost effective, innovative and able to deliver new capabilities. Prior to McKinsey & Co., he was Managing Director at Information Consulting Group, which was ultimately acquired by McKinsey & Co. He began his career at Anderson Consulting, in the Systems Integration Group, where he lead both domestic and international strategic projects.

Mr. Warshaw has an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters in Management from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. Mr. Warshaw will join OptiMark on November 15, 1999. Through early next year, he will continue to oversee Lazard's Y2K effort.
